  5. What is Real Eject?
  6.  
  7. Real Eject is a control panel that prevents "ghost disks" from showing up on your
  8. desktop when you eject a disk using the Eject command from the Special menu
  9. or in file dialogs.  Real Eject solves the problem encountered by almost all new
  10. users when trying to eject a disk.  The most logical choice, choosing the Eject
  11. command either from the Special menu in the Finder or in file dialogs, does not
  12. work properly, as it leaves a ghost or grayed image of the disk behind.  Soon the
  13. message "Please insert the disk <name>" appears, forcing the user to re-insert
  14. the disk.  Some users resort to shutting down the Macintosh to eject the
  15. disk and avoid this problem.  As an alternative, we suggest using Real Eject.

  18. System Requirements

  20. Real Eject requires System 7.0 or greater.

  23. Installing Real Eject

  25. To install, simply drag the Real Eject control panel icon to your System Folder.
  26. Then restart your Macintosh and Real Eject will install.
